Our Story

History of The Woodcreek Club

We take pride in our goal of having the best-kept golf course in the state. We have worked extensively to maintain the beauty that the course has always lived among, while installing state of the art systems to keep it in great shape.

Always Improving

We are constantly striving to improve both the golf course as well as the facilities here at The Woodcreek Club.  A total renovation with re-construction of the clubhouse was completed in late 2019 which now includes all new furniture, lighting, flooring, a fire pit in the back courtyard and new landscaping of the Club House grounds.

Most of the attention was directed to the Tom Fazio golf course where more than 1,200 trees were removed opening the course to additional sunlight and spectacular views. Also, a massive under brushing of all areas around the golf course was undergone to improve the overall playing conditions.  More than 50 flatbeds of sod were brought in to expand and improve the play around the course and practice facilities. We also added the addition of dark hardwood mulch throughout all the natural areas which dramatically improve the aesthetics and playability of the golf course. The entire sprinkler system was redone and a computerized sprinkler system was added so that our golf course maintenance staff can manage the entire golf course’s water needs remotely.  Hundreds of trees, bushes and plants have been added to improve the natural imagery of the course.

One particular improvement project was when the original 4 ½ miles of cart paths were removed, and completely replaced. There is now a more efficient, 8 foot wide path that delivers a comfortable ride while you play – especially with the newly purchased golf cart fleet.  Not stopping there, the club also has redesigned and enlarged the practice putting green and added Titleist ProV1’ golf balls to the driving range to enhance our member’s practice experiences.

The club also addressed the tennis and pool facilities by top-dressing the Stadium Clay Courts, replaced the irrigation system which drastically improved playing conditions, and also made positive improvements to the pool facilities.  While we have plans for many more improvements, we believe at this juncture our club is one of the best in the Columbia area.

A Scenic, Challenging
Test of Golf

World renowned golf course designer Tom Fazio has skillfully molded the unique environment and topography of Woodcreek into a scenic, challenging test of golf that opened for play in October 1997. Winding through, woods, wetlands, hills and valleys – Woodcreek genuinely is a revelation of nature’s beauty and has truly been transformed into a treasure of the midlands. You will encounter challenging waste bunkers, natural streams, and beautiful lakes throughout the property. Each hole is unique and presents its own beauty, so you never feel as if you have played the same hole twice.

We take pride in having one of the most well maintained golf courses in the midlands. We have worked extensively to preserve the beauty that the course has always lived among, while installing state of the art systems to keep it in great shape, year round.
